Snow & Nealley forges each axe head individually using U.S. tool steel, heat-treats it to a Rockwell hardness of 56-58, then hones the edge until it's what Mainers call "wicked sharp." The classic Maine wedge pattern isn't just for looks—it's geometry perfected over generations of splitting New England hardwood.
